Nightcrawlerz: Third Mind 1981-1990 2CD Set w/ booklet

A definitive collection of Nightcrawlerz music and art.

A 2 CD set of experimental sound and spoken word poems from 1981-1990 by the Nightcrawlerz collective: Barry Roth and Cary Loren. Inspired by The Third Mind by William S. Burroughs and Brion Gysin, the poetics of Edgar Allen Poe, Charles Fort, Robert Creeley and Charles Olson. The collective produced collage, photography, avant-garde found sound music, poetry, and  artist books.

Nightcrawlerz formed soon after the demise of the original Destroy All Monsters and continued in a similar direction producing a Detroit based thread of underground music and art.

This double CD set includes several tracks with guest artist and collaborator Ray Johnson, a total of 90 annotated tracks, 140+ minutes of  and a 24 page mini-zine booklet with Nightcrawlerz history, plus several postcards with annotated track listings, a nightcrawler manifesto, and several magic sticker seals, all contents are loose, contained in a crystal clear sealed envelope.

A limited edition of 500 copies, released in 2001, a decade full of documents on this Detroit collective spanning the 1980s. This collection as well as well as the original eight volumes of Nightcrawlerz artist books are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
