Destroy All Monsters; Grow Live Monsters DVD (signed copy)

Grow Live Monsters is a 60 minute selection of 8mm, super-8, and 16 mm underground film shorts from the period 1971-76 made by director Cary Loren. While still at high school Loren started a correspondence with underground filmmaker and performance artist Jack Smith, which led to a meeting in the summer of 1973. One year later the band and artist collective Destroy All Monsters was formed by Mike Kelley, Jim Shaw, Cary Loren, and Niagara. The soundtrack is vintage Destroy All Monsters mixed in with samples and recordings that reflect Loren’s love of exotica.

The DVD also features: Shake a Lizard Tail or Rust Belt Rump; a 30 minute film/video of Black Detroit techno dancers and channel 62 commercials mixed with horror film trailers that Loren made as a background projection during the 1990s DAM reunion concerts, Monsters Redux; 25 minute collection of film outtakes constructed around DAM songs including concert outtakes, DAM Invades Seattle (15 minute Seattle 2000 concert outtake) Hometown Horrors (DAM collective photos and production stills)
