David Bowie Spiders from Mars, live in Detroit 1972
October 1972 show at the Fisher Theater in Detroit, Michigan that featured David Bowie. The art was created by Donnie Dope, a.k.a. Don Forsythe, who also created a number of great pieces for the Grande Ballroom. Legend has it that only a handful of these handbills were distributed when Bowie changed the name of his band from the Spiders to the Spiders from Mars. The handbills were subsequently reprinted with the new name.

Designer Donnie Dope, image post-dates the Grande Ballroom series, although Russ Gibb is involved in this promotion.
Bowie handbill is a Very Fine printing, in brown sepia ink on yellow cardstock, a first printing before they changed the band name to Spiders from Mars.
