A book signing will follow a discussion between the two authors, with book sales made available courtesy of Book Beat.

Cheryl A. Head is the author of the award-winning Charlie Mack Motown mysteries and the 2023 novel Time’s Undoing, which was shortlisted for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, the Strand Critics Award, and The Hurston Wright Legacy Award. Head is an Anthony Award Nominee, a two-time Lambda Literary Award Finalist, and winner of the Independent Publishers Award. Head is the National Board Chair of Bouchercon, the world’s largest mystery fiction convention, and a former broadcast executive at Detroit Public Television. She is a graduate of Wayne State University and Ohio University. Cheryl now lives and writes in Washington, DC.
Stephen Mack Jones is a published poet, award-winning author, and playwright, and recipient of the Kresge Arts in Detroit Literary Fellowship. He is best known for his acclaimed August Snow crime/thriller series, which has garnered numerous accolades. August Snow won the Nero Award, was shortlisted for the Ian Fleming Steel Dagger Award, and was a finalist for the Shamus Award and the Strand Critics Award. The Library of Michigan recognized August Snow as a Michigan Notable Book, a distinction repeated for Dead of Winter. In 2018, the International Association of Crime Writers honored Stephen with the prestigious Hammett Prize for literary excellence in crime writing. His latest novel is Deus X. He was born in Lansing, Michigan, and currently lives in Farmington Hills, outside of Detroit.
