Josh Malerman is a New York Times bestselling author of fantasy horror novels and the singer/songwriter for the band The High Strung. His debut novel, Bird Box, was the inspiration for the hit Netflix film of the same name. Clive Barker has called Malerman’s novel Goblin “a mesmerizing, terrifying tight-rope walk.”

Malerman’s latest book Spin A Black Yarn collects five harrowing novellas of horror and speculative fiction.

“Malerman (Bird Box) returns with a chilling volume of five horror novellas crafted with a perfect mix of intrigue, disgust, tension, and, of course, fear. Echoing such horror greats as Shirley Jackson, the opening tale follows a brother and sister from childhood to old age as the brother tries to make sense of his sister’s eponymous claim that “Half the House Is Haunted.” Malerman’s narratives succeed through not revealing too much—there’s no excessive gore, no jump scares or cheap tricks. Instead, he allows pressure to slowly build and refuses to let it break even when the stories conclude.” –Starred review from Publishers Weekly

“With a light touch, DiPucchio’s entertaining tale addresses themes of perspective and the biases that can come with personal experience.”The Horn Book

In Becoming Charley , a New York Times bestselling author and an award-winning illustrator team up for a striking, modern-day take on The Very Hungry Caterpillar that celebrates staying true to oneself.

Everyone is trying to teach Charley the right way to become a butterfly: Eat your milkweed! Think black! Think orange!
But Charley’s busy admiring the many beautiful things in the world. Like the swaying trees, and the tall mountains, and the turquoise sea. . . . Is there really a “right” way for Charley to become a butterfly?

Young readers will see themselves in Charley–a little caterpillar with an emerging identity–in this dazzling picture book that beautifully explores the nature of self-love.

“Convention is upended in this striking tale of individuality and change.” –Kirkus Reviews, starred review

• Young Adult Author Rebecca Mix is the New York Times bestselling author of stories about weird magic & hope. Her debut novel, The Ones We Burn, was an instant New York Times & Indiebound bestseller. Her latest book is The Mossheart’s Promise, the first in a middlegrade fantasy duology publishing from HarperCollins on September 5, 2023.  Great for ages 8-12 years!

Please note: The publisher has agreed to send copies of The Mossheart’s Promise in advance so we will have them available for signing or inscribing on the Blue Moon, however they will need to be picked up on September 5th the book’s release day or after.

“An exciting, honest, and hopeful tale that speaks gently and clearly to kids’ fears and needs. It urges them to value their own experiences, reassures them that it’s OK to be angry when they’re left to pay for the mistakes of adults, and reminds them that kindness must guide us, even when we’re afraid. A wonderful story for all the scared people doing the right thing because nobody else will.” — Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

In an interview about Mossheart’s Promise, Rebecca said, “It follows twelve-year-old Ary Mossheart, the unremarkable, anxious granddaughter of her world’s last great hero. When Ary wakes one morning to find her mother filled with the very mold eating her world alive, she sets out in search of a cure – only to learn that her entire world is trapped inside of a giant, rotting terrarium they were meant to leave a hundred years ago. Worse, her Gran knew, and never told anyone. Now Ary has five days to find the exit, or they’re trapped forever. It’s a love letter to the middlegrade that turned me into a reader – REDWALL, CITY OF EMBER, GREGOR THE OVERLANDER, etc – and filled with all my favorite things. There’s also a giant talking newt, climate change Feelings, and a whole lot of mold.” — from an interview at The Nerd Daily
